It’s evident that tyranny is advancing across the West, quietly and in small steps, often under the banners of progressivism, liberalism, and secularism. The need for citizens who think deeply and act decisively has never been greater.
Citizen Books exists as a response.
Our publications celebrate, explain, and preserve the intellectual and cultural traditions of the Western world. They readily affirm the Christian moral foundation that has uniquely fostered our freedoms and flourishing.
We will consider inquiries from individuals with a proven record of advancing causes aligned with traditional Western norms and values, who seek to publish books that reflect their expertise and contribute meaningfully to public discourse.
Our Authors
We seek out and publish authors who question prevailing assumptions, tackle contested issues, and contribute to thoughtful public debate.
The thought-leaders we partner with do not merely provide commentary but clarity. They foster informed discussion, recover neglected perspectives, and encourage readers to engage seriously with the cultural and civic inheritance they have received as citizens of the West.
Citizen Books reaches out directly to individuals we wish to collaborate with—those whose work embodies the insight, rigor, and perspective of our mission. We do not accept unsolicited manuscript submissions.
Our Reach
Available in print, digital, and audio formats, our works are distributed widely through major online marketplaces and professional book-trade channels, making them accessible to libraries, institutions, and readers worldwide.
At every stage, Citizen Books empowers men and women with the knowledge and perspective they need to preserve faith, freedom, and fraternity, and confront those who would undermine these pillars of Western life.
Our Latest Release
CHRIST OR CHAOS: The Case Against Godless Government is available June 1st, 2026, for purchase through the Amazon website, other major e-commerce platforms, and select bookstores across the English-speaking world.
CHRIST OR CHAOS diagnoses the post-1960s breakdown of social cohesion, moral order, and collective life in the U.S. and Canada, and presents a clear path toward renewal. Drawing on an extensive body of historical and social scientific research, it makes the case that Christian norms and values must once again guide governance to reverse civilizational decline.
While the arguments will resonate deeply with devout Christians, open-minded non-believers are neither excluded nor asked to accept the claims on faith. Instead, they are invited to assess the arguments on the full weight of the evidence, with conclusions drawn empirically rather than theologically. From the outset, the book frames its mission as restoring and advancing the political philosophy that built the West—Traditional Conservatism—rather than calling directly for a religious revival. At the same time, it affirms that a renewal of religious life would strengthen and sustain that project. Accordingly, the book invites engagement from believers and non-believers alike, through faith or through practical and philosophical reasoning.
The Author, David Millard Haskell is a sociologist of religion and a tenured professor at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada. His research on sustaining Christian communities has appeared in leading academic journals and national media across the U.S., the UK, and Canada. He leads Haskell Strategic Communications Inc., where he helps social conservative groups craft and amplify their messages, and is an ordained pastor, married with five children.
